  | I saw a drawing with a guy in armour called 'Chaos mage' on Elfwood. The colour scheme was mainly red-black; the armour had horns and skulls. It made me think: 'I can do that too.' So I painted my own chaos mage. I made the background bluer than the original painting with Photoshop 5.5, because it makes the figure stand out more, but still I think the colour scheme is off. The hands are too large compared to the head. I didn’t want to change them because they turned out so well and I made the head larger instead. Despite my efforts the proportions still aren’t right. Something to keep in mind in the future. Any pointers and tips are welcome to help me make my next work better. I made this one for a small fantasy art exposition held in Leiden. It's a shame the details of the ring are hard to see in this small version. |
